Gloria Freeman Named Minnesota Small Business Person of the Year

April 5, 2015. Gloria Freeman (2011 StreetWise 'MBA'™ alum) was recently named Minnesota Small Business Person of the Year by the U.S Small Business Administration. "It’s what she’s doing here and for children in the neighborhood of North Minneapolis that makes her a Minnesotan to Meet," reports CBS Minnesota.

Gloria founded Olu's Home in 1999. "I wasn't sure what I wanted to do," she says. She had just lost her job as a senior underwriter.

Olu's Home provides residential and in-home services to the elderly and people with mental illness and/or developmental disabilities.

In 2015, Gloria opened Olu’s Center which brings together the elderly with young children. Olu's Center is "an Intergenerational Care Center with a nourishing environment where chidlren and seniors can build relationships, inspire, give, and learn freely."
