Lord & Benoit, LLC
Lord & Benoit started teaching "Complying with SOX Section 404" throughout the United States through the State CPA Societies. Shortly thereafter Lord & Benoit's SOX research became known worldwide, having been quoted by all the Big 4 firms, Wall Street Journal, and over 200 legal and educational trade journals worldwide.
Lord & Benoit then became the first SOX compliance firm in the world to use the new COSO Framework for Smaller Public Companies. This later led to an invitation by the Chairman of COSO to participate in the first COSO Monitoring Board meeting in Washington, DC and represent smaller companies. Lord & Benoit still serves in this capacity.
In the early stages, one company hired Lord & Benoit to do its SOX Section 404 compliance remotely. After successfully completing the compliance effort, Lord & Benoit invented Virtual SOX TM and taught it on the AICPA Technology website, continuing to be prove itself as a committed and innovative leader in Internal Controls and IT Controls compliance.
In the greater interest of helping America understand how SOX could be done affordably, right-size, using a top-down, risk-based approach, Lord & Benoit offered its framework to the SEC free of charge. This, along with Lord & Benoit's involvement on the COSO taskforce became two significant contributions toward the development of the effective, yet cost-efficient SEC Interpretive Guidance.
Once the SEC issued its final directive for all companies with years ending after December 15, 2007 to comply with SOX 404(a) Management Assessments, Lord & Benoit became a worldwide leader in SOX compliance, helping dozens of companies successfully comply with internal control and IT control provisions of SOX Section 404 from start to finish.
